Age UK Leicestershire & Rutland is an independent local voluntary organisation that exists to promote the well-being of all older people by helping to make life fulfilling and enjoyable. Our organisation is committed to the welfare of older people, to maintain their dignity and recognise their value as individuals. We support older people to retain their independence by developing relevant services that reflect their needs and wishes, including day care, information and advice, home care and befriending.
Placements are available in the following areas:
Day Care Service - which supports people living with a range of long term health conditions, including dementia. The centres are designed to support individuals to live independently in the community, enable them to socialise and interact with others and provide a range of meaningful activities.
Dementia Support Service - works with individuals, who are living with a diagnosis of dementia and their informal carers. The service offers one to one support, group activities and informal carer learning.
Information and Advice Department - provides tailored information, advice and support to older people and their family carers. Information and advice is provided on a wide range of topics, including welfare benefits, accessing health and social care support and coping with long term health conditions.
