We currently provide support for up to 85 older people per week - our clients live with long term conditions, dementia, frailty and the consequences of strokes. In our bespoke building in Radford, Nottingham, we provide activity and exercise classes to maintain physical and mental wellbeing, and we ensure all members have a nutritious, home-cooked two course meal at lunchtime in a sociable and friendly atmosphere. As we are open 5 days a week, Monday to Friday, this centre would provide numerous opportunities for AHP students to support our members.
We also offer a Carers Dementia Information Programme which operates across the city offering 7 weekly sessions for carers of loved ones with dementia. The programme is run 5 times a year for 7 weeks each, offering either evening, daytime or weekend sessions.
We are running an arts project called ArtSpeak, which is funded until 2023, which an Arts Therapy student could be involved with.
