The Centre Project
The Centre Project is a local charity based in Leicester City Centre that supports vulnerable people in the community. We aim to reach those who are most excluded from our society to reduce isolation and promote wellbeing. The Centre Project is a place where those who are alone and socially isolated can find acceptance, a sense of belonging and renewed purpose.
We offer talking therapies with a mental health practitioner and art therapy with a qualified art therapist; drop-ins and support for those at risk of homelessness; a youth club for asylum seekers and refugees; healthy cooking activities as well providing freshly cooked meals and food parcels.
Students can support us in the development and delivery of meaningful services, activities and interventions to support both the emotional and physical health needs of people using the Centre Project.
We are happy to be flexible on the length of placement, but feel students would benefit most from interacting with our service users over a longer period.
